Wasn't Lag B'Omer last week?
Registriation for the 2012-13 school year begins June 4.
I meant to send an email out before Yom Kippur about what we spoke about, but I got caught up with schoolwork, so it's a little late.
We spoke about Yom Kippur as a holiday when we do Tshuva (return) to G-d and our natural selves. Tshuva is really about returning to who you really are. When we meet people we put on a mask, a facade hiding our true selves. Yom Kippur is all about taking off our masks and being ourselves.
It's about coming to the realization that we are Jews and what it means to be part of the Jewish people. As Jews we treasure the values of Judaism and on Yom Kippur we strive to return and to adhere to the values Judaism represents.
Now that Yom Kippur is over we try to set a goal for a trajectory change in our lives.
See everyone on Shabbat at BSKI at 9:30 AM!!!!!!
Happy Sukkot and Shabbat Shalom,
Daniel Iken
