Dear Kitah Hay Families,
We took the week off from our prayer studies this week as we finished the Hoda-ah (thank you blessing) last week. On Sunday we participated with the Mens' club in the "World Wide Wrap". All of the students got to practice laying tefillin and get a sense of how it feels to observe this ancient tradition.
On Monday we continued our life cycle unit on weddings and marriage by reviewing wedding rituals and watching the wedding scene from Fiddler on the Roof. Wednesday was Tu B'Shevat and we celebrated by making Tu B'Shevat cupcakes with fruits of the tree - some of the kids left out the figs which I felt was a shame because that was supposed to be the best part!!
Last week the students made posters about things they are thankful for to conclude our study of the Hoda-ah prayer. Several of them wanted to bring pictures from home to complete their posters. Please help your student to remember to bring in a photo if that was part of his/her plan.
Looking forward to seeing you this Saturday for the Shabbat Initiative.
