Dear Kitah Hay Families,
It sounds like everyone enjoyed a wonderful winter break. It was great to be back with your children again this past week. Ivy spent her winter break in Israel and shared some of her experiences with us - very exciting!
On Sunday we continued on in our life cycle unit by studying conversion. We discussed some of the requirements and rituals of conversion and then in groups the students pretended to be a Bet Din (Jewish court) and listed the questions they would ask of a prospective convert before allowing him/her to become a Jew. They were pretty tough!
In Hebrew we continued our study of modern Hebrew, reviewing vocabulary and using simple sentences. We also started studying a new prayer, the Hoda-ah, prayer of thanks is the second to last blessing in the Amidah. Students should be practicing lines 1-7 on page four of their folders at home.
We do have class this Sunday, but Monday we will be off for the MLK holiday.
